One thing that is important for every blogger to do is to watermark their photos. There are two reasons for this. First it’s a way to, more or less, copyright them. Now that doesn’t mean that people won’t try to use your photos without your permission, but it is a start. Second it’s another great way to get your name out there. If someone comes across your picture they’ll be able to connect it with your blog if your blog name is somewhere on the picture.
Usually I just automatically use PicMonkey to watermark my photos when I’m editing them. The problem is that it can take quite a bit of time to upload the photo, make the water mark, adjust the size of it, save the picture, etc. There are times that I want to quickly post a picture to social media, but I don’t want to take the time to watermark my photo in PicMonkey, but I know I need to add that mark in case others share my photo.
Enter PicMark! This free site makes watermarking your pictures for social media shares a breeze. All you have to do is click “Create New Post,” choose a frame, enter the text you want to watermark you picture with, upload the picture, and then click save. It only takes a couple minutes. You can then share your picture on Facebook, Twitter, or Pinterest.
What I Think of PicMark
I love how easy the site is to use and how quickly it allows me to mark my pictures. Taking the time to watermark a photo to share can be such a pain, so I don’t share nearly enough pictures. I’ll probably be sharing a lot more picture now that I have PicMark. My only wish is that I could use it to watermark photos for Instagram. That’s the social media site that I share the most pictures on, and I would really like to watermark my photos there! Still it will be great for Facebook and Twitter. I never just share pictures on Pinterest, so I don’t expect I’ll be using their service for that, but it’s nice that they offer it.
