Hi! It’s me Sarah…remember me?
Sorry I’ve been a bit off the map this month, but it’s been a busy one for me!
I spent 17 days in China to complete our adoption of a little girl.
It was a long hard road, but we made it home and are working through the difficult task of finding our new normal. (I blogged the entire trip…you can check it out on my personal blog Play 2 Learn with Sarah.)
So why did I title this post, What Do Your Readers Really Want?, and then tell you about my adoption?
Because what your readers REALLY want…is to connect with you.
They want to get to know you and share in your ups and downs.
Yes, those review posts pay some of the bills, but the real meat of your blog is you.
I post on my blog 5-7 times a week…that’s a LOT of work and I put a lot of time and effort into having a variety of things for my readers, but my traffic is just average.
But every time I post about my adoption…my traffic doubles or triples or even more.
People want to know my story. They want to follow it and hear the happy ending for us. They want to be able to share some small slice of someone’s life that is doing something they haven’t ever done.
So today I want to encourage you to let your readers in to your life. Let them see the real you…I promise, you won’t be sorry!
