If you’re like me, you’ve got a crazy life and trying to fit blogging into it is like trying to stuff yourself into your high school prom dress….ain’t gonna happen!
We’ve mentioned a few times (esp in our 31 Days to Build a Better Blog Self Paced Course) that by using a calendar you can actually make a plan and then when you sit down for that 10 whole seconds you get while Elmo sings away in the background, you know what you’re supposed to be writing about.
Do You Use Google Calendar?
Google Calendar comes free with your Gmail account…which we recommend everyone have for your blog.
But did you know that you can have more than one calendar in that calendar? I know…that makes no sense…but I actually have a minute to write and it’s late so just go with it.
I have my main calendar which shows personal appointments and commitments.
BUT…if you click on that little arrow to the right of “My Calendar” it will give you the option to “create new calendar.”
You can see that so far I’ve created a “Dinner” calendar so I can see what I’ve planned for dinner each night.
I’ve also created a “Posts – P2L” calendar…that’s my personal blog. I can use this calendar to decide when I want to post things plus deadlines for giveaways and sponsored posts. (My day to post on this blog is Monday, so I don’t need one for it.)
And you can see that I’ve set different colors for each calendar. The “Tasks” one is white right now…that means those are NOT showing up on this compilation calendar. Just click on the color and the calendars will be added or removed from the main one. You can also just look at one calendar at a time if that’s easier.
Now, go set up your blogging calendar!
What do you need to keep track of? Could you use this free calendar (that conveniently syncs to all of your devices) to help keep you on track?
